GoCardless Integration Now Live in FigsFlow

FigsFlow now has GoCardless integration, letting you collect recurring payments by direct debit when clients sign engagement letters.

We’re excited to announce that GoCardless integration is now available in FigsFlow. This means you can collect recurring payments via direct debit automatically when clients sign their engagement letters, eliminating payment chasing and reducing admin time.

GoCardless joins our growing suite of integrations, including Xero, QuickBooks, Stripe, and Adfin, giving you more flexibility in how you collect payments from clients.

What the GoCardless Integration Does

GoCardless Integration Now Live in FigsFlow

The GoCardless integration connects your FigsFlow account with GoCardless’s direct debit payment platform. When a client signs their engagement letter in FigsFlow, they’re automatically prompted to add their bank details for direct debit setup.

Once connected, payments are collected automatically according to your agreed schedule. No manual invoicing required. No chasing late payments. The client’s bank account is debited directly, and you receive funds without lifting a finger.

This works seamlessly within your existing FigsFlow workflow. You send the engagement letter, the client signs it, adds their bank details through the secure GoCardless prompt, and recurring payments begin automatically.

The entire process happens in one smooth client journey.

Why This Matters for Your Practice

Direct debit collection through GoCardless solves three major practice management headaches:

Stop Chasing Payments

The average practice spends 3-5 hours weekly following up on overdue invoices. With direct debit mandates in place, payments are collected automatically on schedule. No reminders. No awkward conversations. No wasted billable hours.

Remove Onboarding Friction

Clients set up payment during LOE signing in a smooth process. No standing order setup. No remembering to pay. No dropout between signing and paying. They commit faster, you start earning sooner.

Scale Recurring Revenue Models

If you're moving to value pricing or fixed monthly fees, manual invoicing kills the model. GoCardless makes recurring billing actually work. Set it once, collect automatically, focus on delivery instead of admin.

The numbers add up quickly. With 50 clients spending 10 minutes each monthly on payment tasks (invoicing, recording, chasing), that’s 8+ hours on pure admin. GoCardless cuts this to near zero for recurring clients.

How to Set Up GoCardless Integration

Setting up the integration takes about 5 minutes. First, you’ll need a GoCardless account. If you don’t have one, you can sign up at gocardless.com.

Get a GoCardless Account

Sign up at gocardless.com if you don't already have one. They offer a free trial with no setup fees.

Connect in FigsFlow

Go to Settings → Integration, find the GoCardless card, and click Connect.

Authorise the Connection

You'll be redirected to GoCardless to log in and grant FigsFlow permission to create mandates and collect payments.

Start Collecting

Once connected, clients will see the direct debit setup option when they sign engagement letters. They add bank details, authorise the mandate, and automatic collection begins.

If you’re already using Stripe or Adfin for payment collection, you can run multiple integrations simultaneously. This gives clients payment method choice while you maintain automated collection across different payment types.

What's Next

The GoCardless integration is part of our broader focus on automating practice admin and improving cash flow management for accounting professionals. We’re continuing to expand our integration ecosystem to give you more tools for running your practice efficiently.

We’re also working on enhanced reporting features that will give you better visibility into payment status, collection rates, and cash flow forecasting across all your integrated payment platforms.

If you have feedback on the GoCardless integration or suggestions for other integrations you’d like to see, we’d love to hear from you. Your input directly shapes our product roadmap.
